Open API & API Keys
Read and write LendingWise data from your own systems, and manage your API keys yourself.
Add-onThe Open API is a paid add-on. Confirm it's on your account before anyone starts building; see Plans & Billing.
The Open API lets your own systems (a website, CRM, data warehouse or internal tool) create and read loan data in LendingWise.
API keys
Admins create and manage API keys themselves in Platform Settings → Integration Hub → API Keys. Every key you've issued is listed in one place, so you can connect a system without waiting on support and see exactly who has access.
Two versions
| Version | Strongest at | Reference |
|---|---|---|
| 3.2 | Reading: the widest read coverage today. Will eventually be deprecated. | API Reference 3.2 |
| 4.0 | Creating and updating, with a published OpenAPI 3.1 description you can generate a client from. Read coverage is catching up. | API Reference 4.0 |
Build against whichever version covers the calls you need.
What's covered
Authentication; your organization (employees, branches, borrowers, brokers, loan officers); single loan files and searchable lists, including recently changed files; loan-file detail (borrowers, properties, insurance, rent roll, title, billing, credit decision, HMDA and more); file assignments; documents and notes; activity history (status history, days in status, workflow, e-mail history); reference data; and loan origination.
Need a field an endpoint doesn't cover? Submit a ticket. Coverage is extended on request.
Before you build
- Check an integration doesn't already exist. Credit, valuation, flood, documents, pricing and accounting are already integrated. See Integrations Overview.
- For deals coming in, Lead Posting generates the exact request for your account. For events going out, use Webhooks.
- Test with one record and inspect the resulting file before turning on a live feed.
An API key is a company-level credentialAnything holding a key can reach your whole account, including borrower data. Keep keys out of tools people outside your back office can reach, and start any new integration read-only.
Full detail: in LendingWise, open Loan Origination → User Guide → Open API.
