QuickBooks Online

Post loan fee income and fund funding entries to QuickBooks Online, manually or on a status change.

Connect QuickBooks Online and stop re-entering loan fees by hand. When a loan reaches the point you choose, LendingWise builds the journal entry from the figures on the file and posts it to your books.

What gets posted

Posting modeWhat posts
Fee incomeThe originator or broker view: one entry for the fee income earned on the loan.
Fund balance sheetThe mortgage fund view: a funding entry for the loan, plus the fee income as a separate entry.

In fund mode, choose how a funded loan books: cash out (net funds advanced), full commitment (each financed component to its own asset account) or total clearing (total loan to loans receivable, with the difference to a clearing account). Every funding entry must balance to the cent before it posts.

Setting it up

  1. Have your QuickBooks Online subscription and a settled chart of accounts. Bring your accountant; these are accounting decisions.
  2. In Platform Settings → Integration Hub, find the QuickBooks card and click Connect. You sign in to QuickBooks itself; LendingWise never sees your QuickBooks password.
  3. Click Configure and set:
    • Posting mode (and the funding model and accounts, in fund mode)
    • Fee mapping: for each fee, whether it posts and to which income account. Mark a fee Required and a loan can't post until that fee has an amount.
    • Fee deposit account
    • When to send: manually, or automatically when a file reaches a status you choose

Sending from the loan file

The loan's Integration Hub tab previews the exact debit and credit lines before you commit. Click Send to QuickBooks, or let the automatic trigger do it. A failed send never holds up the status change.

❗️

A loan posts once, and only once

Pressing Send again, or a trigger firing twice, never creates a duplicate entry. That also means corrections happen in QuickBooks, so check the preview before you send.

Every push is logged: History on the provider card for the whole company, and the loan-file panel for that loan.

Full detail: in LendingWise, open Loan Origination → User Guide → QuickBooks Online.
