Flood Certificates (ServiceLink)

Order Life of Loan flood certificates from ServiceLink, plus a free Quick Check before you order.

📘

Beta

ServiceLink Flood is in beta. You connect it with your own ServiceLink account.

ServiceLink Flood gives you two things for each property on a loan file:

  • a Life of Loan flood determination: the flood certificate
  • a free Quick Check, which tells you whether the property is likely in a flood zone before you order

Setting it up

  1. Hold your own ServiceLink account. ServiceLink issues your user ID, password and customer number.
  2. In Platform Settings → Integration Hub, find the ServiceLink Flood card, enter the three values and press Test Connection.
  3. Choose which order updates add a note to the loan's Note History.
  4. Grant the ordering switch on each user's profile. Cancelling and reissuing an order also needs a Manager or Super Admin.

Quick Check

On Property Info, the Flood Check column has a Quick Check button for each property. It returns Likely in flood zone, Likely not in flood zone or Unknown.

🚧

A Quick Check is not a determination

It's a computer estimate, and nothing from it is written to the property's flood fields. Use it to decide whether to order, and rely on the certificate.

Ordering a certificate

On the loan's Integration Hub tab, choose Order a service → Flood → ServiceLink. Tick the properties; ServiceLink gets one order per property. Each property needs a complete address, a two-letter state and a five-digit ZIP. The loan needs a loan number, and with several properties each one needs its own.

Orders are checked for news every 15 minutes, or immediately with Refresh Status. From an order you can also provide information ServiceLink asks for, request manual research when there's no automatic match, and cancel or reissue.

What comes back

  • The flood details are written onto the property on Property Info, and those fields lock.
  • The certificate is filed in the loan's documents.
  • Refresh Status on a completed certificate brings back ServiceLink's current determination, for example after a FEMA map change. The new certificate is filed beside the earlier one.
🚧

Check before ordering again

An order that may already have reached ServiceLink is never re-sent automatically, because it may have been placed and billed. Check the order first.

Flood certificates are also available from Cotality. See Integrations Overview.
